Do you keep getting timeouts (page throws a 404 error) while using Internet Explorer? If you hit refresh, the page loads up fine. This doesn’t happen in other browser like Firefox.

There’s a receive timeout setting in the registry which I guess controls the length of time IE waits for a response from the server. In my case, either there was a hiccup somewhere (during installation) or some software I installed “touched” this key but the value was set to 1270 (decimal). I changed it to a higher value and now am able to use Internet Explorer without any issues.

The Bloom Energy Server looks like a pretty cool new spin on fuel cell technology.  Google connected with Bloom Energy and became it’s 1^st customer over 18 months ago.  Relatively cheap (and theoretically to become much cheaper), clean, portable energy that is 50% more efficient than conventional sources at converting natural resources to electricity, Bloom Energy aims to create a consumer version of the server to power an average American home with a brick-sized box within 10 years.  We’ll see about that, but at least for now they have a viable option for Fortune 1000 customers (current customers include eBay, Wal-Mart, the CIA, Staples, FedEx, Coca-Cola, Google, Lockheed, and Bank of America).  Pretty cool to see this kind of advancement in fuel cell technology….
